ABLE AgeWorks is a new and unique program from Operation A.B.L.E., which has offered training and employment for some than 34,000 individuals over the age of 45 since it was founded in 1982.
ABLE AgeWorks was created to provide innovative services to professionals, managers and executives over age 45, a long overlooked, and vital, part of the workforce.
Participants in the ABLE AgeWorks program are all highly skilled, educated, and experienced professionals. They may be currently employed and ready to enhance their careers, or to transition to more meaningful work. Others in the program may be underemployed, or unemployed for a short or long time and desiring to reenter the workforce. ABLE AgeWorks will assist all of these individuals to meet their goals by offering special integrated career services, including:
- Professional Career Networking Clubs (PCNC)
- Career Advancement Boot Camps
- Connections for ABLE AgeWorks Participants to ABLE Friendly Employers
- Career Coaching from Experts
- Mastering the Digital Divide

PROFESSIONAL CAREERS NETWORKING CLUB (PCNC)
Finding and keeping a successful career in today’s ever changing workplace is always a challenge. ABLE AgeWorks has developed a Professional Career Networking Club (PCNC) which provides seasoned workers with a support group to help them navigate through the job hunting and career exploration maze. The PCNC meets once a month on the third Thursday.
It offers participants an opportunity to:

ABLE AgeWorks offers opportunities for working professionals over 45 years of age to receive individualized coaching and advice directly from experts for a reasonable fee. This includes personalized resume and cover letters, interviewing preparation and career/work-life coaching and exploration.
Listings of approved career coaches who offer affordable fees for service can be made available to participants in the ABLE AgeWorks program.
MASTERING THE DIGITAL DIVIDE
If you are a Boston neighborhood resident and looking to learn or fine tune computer skills to help find or keep a job, Operation A.B.L.E. offers the ABLE Job Resource Center. It is open entry/open-exit, which means you can call for an appointment when you want, come in, receive the appropriate available services and leave at your own pace. This program includes intense short-term skills training in job search and placement, social media, and MS Office.

SOME ABLE AGEWORKS FRIENDLY INITIATIVES:
Educational Sessions are conducted by ABLE Friendly Employers. They focus on information relative to professional older worker opportunities within their organizations.
Onsite Career Events Career fairs and other career-related programs of interest to mature workers are held throughout the year.

Our EAC is comprised of employers from leading companies throughout Massachusetts. They offer insight into current business practices, software applications used in their industries and hiring trends taking shape in the workplace. EAC members support ABLE events, collaborate with Operation A.B.L.E. about training requirements for their organizations and counsel ABLE AgeWorks participants on what employers are looking for in today's marketplace.
