Volunteer Coordinator
(2 needed)               

Location:  Lincoln

 

Eligibility:  Must be 55 or older, of low income and unemployed. 

 

Reports to:  Director

 

Tasks:
-- Serve as receptionist, including: taking calls, welcoming visitors, signing up callers for programs, checking people in for activities, making coffee and setting out refreshments. 
-- Coordinate volunteers for meals-on-wheels, transportation and office assistants, including: receiving requests for service, notifying volunteers of assignments by mail and phone, filling in calendars with volunteers names by computer, finding substitute volunteers, answering questions about
volunteer assignments.

Pick up mail at Town Hall daily.

-- Other tasks as needed.

 

Qualifications:  Organized, good interpersonal skills, detail-oriented.  Previous office or administrative and computer experience a plus, but we will train.

 

Hours:  20 hours per week. Two identical positions to coordinate so that hours 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday are covered (in July and August, 7 to 5 Monday through Thursday).

 

Training:  We will provide training in how to complete typical community center administrative and receptionist functions such as receiving and directing calls, welcoming visitors, sign-up procedures for programs and services, scheduling volunteers, interacting with volunteers and clients of volunteer services, keeping and distributing documents such as calendars related to volunteer scheduling, and basic office tasks such as picking up mail.
