Operation A.B.L.E. to Host First Mature Worker Career Fair of ‘07

February 23, 2007

Boston, Mass. – Mature job seekers will soon have another opportunity to meet one-on-one with many of Greater Boston’s most prominent employers.   Operation A.B.L.E. of Greater Boston is set to host another Career Fair for Mature Workers on Tuesday, March 20, at the Radisson Hotel Boston.  The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3. p.m. in the hotel’s 6th floor Arlington Room.  Job seekers age 45 and older will get the chance to meet with employers representing a broad range of industries and employment needs.

According to Operation A.B.L.E. Executive Director Joan Cirillo, the organization hopes to improve on two career fairs it held in May and November 2006 respectively which drew an estimated 850 job seekers to meet more than 45 employers.

“The turnout for last year’s career fairs was beyond our expectations and we are hoping to outdo ourselves again on March 20,” she said.  “We are working to sign up even more employers and greatly expand the types of positions available to mature workers.  The employers are realizing that their future success lies in their ability attract and retain highly talented, creative, and loyal mature workers.”

Mature job seekers can visit the events section of the Operation A.B.L.E. web site (www.operationable.net) regarding the employers signed on and the types of positions they are looking to fill.  Additional details on workshops at the event will also be available.
